The Djembabes

An all-women drumming group based in Southampton, who meet fortnightly to make lots of noise....

The group was formed in early 2007 to perform for an International Womens' Day event in Southampton.  We all enjoyed drumming together and decided to continue meeting up and sharing rhythms.

Djembabes has no 'teacher' -  we share rhythms, experiment with new arrangements and generally have fun drumming!   

Please contact us if you would like to know more.  We are always open to new members and welcome drummers of all levels, including complete beginners!  We have some drums you can borrow, so you do not need to own a drum.
